Barbagia ospitale

Every Sunday
Aritzo and Belvì are two pleasant and characteristic villages of the Barbagia di Belvì, nestled on the western side of the highest Sardinian mountain, completely immersed in a spectacular green sea made up of lush forests of chestnut, cherry, hazel, and oak trees that generously populate these lands.
These ancient settlements are located between 800 and 900 meters above sea level in a favorable panoramic position, between the crown of the Gennargentu peaks and the valley floor of the Iscra river, watched over by the imposing geological features of Texile and Pizze Pranu, the two rock giants. A bucolic and intoxicating landscape, to the delight of visitors and residents alike.
Walking among the stone houses, immobile witnesses of centuries of rural life, quenching your thirst at the Is Alinos spring, meeting the smile and curious gaze of the local inhabitants, will be a dive into the past. Visiting these villages means tasting the intense and peppery cured meats of the past, or letting yourself be lulled by the sweetness of caschette, a precious dessert made with honey and hazelnuts, prepared by skilled hands, but also enjoying all the harmony of Mandrolisai wines, the renowned local D.O.C.
Since ancient times this valley has been a holiday destination, ever since tourism began. A valley where an imposing wooded environment reigns supreme, varied and generous in colors that change chromatically according to the seasons.
